UK, Day 2 - Fleet St., Platform 9 3/4, Harrods

Most of today was taken up by the wedding, but that gets its own post. But, we did quite a bit of other stuff, too, after the wedding. There are several patches that Em can earn for Girl Scouts by doing various activities around the world. Girl Scouts USA has a bunch of troops overseas for girls living outside of the US. A lot of the overseas Girl Scouts communities have made patches that girls can earn. The London Girl Scouts actually have 5 patches, 4 of which Em could earn on this trip (the 5th one is in Scotland). So, a lot of the little things we did were for Em's patches.

Because Em & I are freaks, we wanted to visit Fleet Street. 186 Fleet Street is where Sweeney Todd was reported to have taken place. It's a printer now, but it was still fun.

We also went to Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross station. Unfortunately, they are doing construction on the "real" Platform 9 3/4, so we had to make do with a mock-up. I just wish it had real bricks. Ah, well.

After that, we went to Harrods. We walked right into the Harrods merchandise section. Wow, they have quite a large one. Millions of aprons in different styles, baby toys, pens, mugs, everything. Em picked out a rubber ducky, since she collects them. Unfortunately, it was just about closing time, so we only got to spend about 10 minutes in there. But, it was still fun.

After that, we were exhausted, so we went back to the hotel. We grabbed some sandwiches in Paddington Station and took them back to the room. We went to bed at like 9.

Emma says - Fleet Street was cool, but the funniest part was that there were both a barber shop and a pie shop on the same street. 9 3/4 was cool because we got to see how many nerds were disappointed that the real one was under construction. The little cart was funny. After I took the picture, I turned to Mom and said, "Oh, I forgot my owl, we have to go home." I got a duck at Harrods. Harrods is huge! I wish it hadn't closed so soon after we got there.
