The Rome-fountains were DELICIOUS! They all tasted different, and they were so full of minerals that we probably will never taste better water. Dad, Steven and I stopped at every fountain to get a sip, even if we had just passed it not ten seconds ago. (in Pompeii especially- we rounded a few corners with fountains multiple times.) Mom wasn’t that into the fountains. She said the ones that came thru metal pipes tasted like copper, and the ones that came thru other kinds of pipes tasted like whatever they were made of. She eventually just gave up on the fountains.

Dad says- Having the fountains everywhere were one of my favorite parts of the city. A pillar or a wall is okay, but the fountains still work and served the same function for us that they did for ancient the Romans.

Karen says - I thought it was cool that you could just take your water bottle (or your hands) to a fountain to get clean water, but I didn't like the way they tasted, nor did I like the fact that they were lukewarm. But, at some points, they were better than no water, so I did drink from some of them.
